Word of the Father · Day 305/366
Gratitude as a Way of Life
“For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
Psalm 100:5
We've reached the end of this month in which we walked together through gratitude and contentment, and I want to close with a truth that upholds everything we've talked about: I am good, my mercy endures forever, my faithfulness does not change from generation to generation. It's on this foundation that your gratitude should stand, not on circumstances that shift every day.
Gratitude can't be a one-month exercise, tucked away in a drawer whenever hardship returns. I want it to become a way of life — the first thought when you open your eyes, the last word before you sleep, the lens you use to view every situation, good or hard.
Carry this certainty with you, into next month and every month to come: my goodness does not depend on your bank balance, my faithfulness does not fail even when everything feels uncertain. Keep giving thanks for the small and the great, for what you've already received and for what you're still waiting on. This is the contented life I've dreamed for you all along.
