Word of the Father · Day 77/366
When the News Weighs Heavy
“He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.”
Psalm 112:7
You opened the news again today and the world seemed heavier than yesterday. One tragedy after another, one crisis running into the next, and your heart keeps absorbing so much bad news that anxiety grows without you even noticing its root.
My son, my daughter, I never asked you to live oblivious to the world, but I also didn't call you to carry the weight of the whole planet on your shoulders alone. There's a difference between being informed and being submerged up to your neck in bad news all day long.
Today, allow yourself a limit. You can care without drowning. The world is in my hands before it's ever in the headlines. The steady heart, the one that isn't afraid of alarming news, is the one that anchored its trust in me first, and only afterward looked at the news. The steady heart, anchored in me, withstands even the worst headline of the day.
