Word of the Father · Day 75/366
Alone, But Not Forsaken
“I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
Joshua 1:5
Raising a child alone, making every decision without anyone to share it with at the table, lying down exhausted with no shoulder to lean on — that carries a weight few people understand from the outside. The anxiety of getting everything right alone, with no one to take turns, can be overwhelming on the hardest days.
My son, my daughter, you are not alone, even when the house feels too quiet after the children fall asleep and no one asks how your day was. I promised never to leave you nor forsake you, and that promise has no fine print, nor does it depend on you having human company all the time to hold you up.
I see the effort no one sees, the sacrifice no one applauds, the bills you sort out alone after everyone else is asleep. I am your provision on the impossible days and your strength when there's nothing left inside you. You are doing an enormous work, and I am right here, holding on together with you, without a break and without growing weary.
