The Future I Cannot Yet See
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11
Retirement feels far away and, at the same time, too close. You do the math, you look at what you've already saved, at what's still missing, and a shadow of uncertainty falls over your plans to grow old in peace. The distant future has a way of stirring anxiety in the present too.
My son, my daughter, I thought of you before you ever thought of your future. My plans for your life are plans of peace, not of evil, to give you a hoped-for end, not despair. That doesn't mean you don't need to plan — plan wisely, yes — but the final outcome doesn't depend only on your control over numbers.
I am already in your future, tending to the details before you even get there. Entrust your long-term plans to me. You are not walking toward an uncertain future — you are walking toward a future I already know and have carefully prepared.
