Word of the Father · Day 89/366

You Are Already Enough for Me

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you.

John 15:16

There is a quiet anxiety that lives in some hearts: the fear of never being enough for God, of praying too little, of failing too much, of not having faith strong enough. That kind of religious weight can be just as heavy as any other anxiety in life.

My son, my daughter, my relationship with you never began with your performance. It was I who chose you, before any merit of yours, before any perfectly worded prayer or perfect day of faith. You don't have to perform spiritually to earn my closeness — it is already yours, freely given.

Set aside the ruler that measures your faith by how much you do. I look at the heart that seeks, even while stumbling, even with doubts, even with short and distracted prayers. You are already enough for me, because sufficiency was never up to you — it depends on my love, which is constant.
