When My Legs Won't Carry Me Anymore
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
I saw you this morning, staring at the ceiling before getting up, gathering the courage just to start the day. I know your body feels heavy and your mind is already tired before you even leave the house, and that just thinking about your list of tasks makes your spirit sink.
I never promised the road would be short. I promised that while you wait on me, I exchange your strength for mine. It's not your strength stretched until it breaks — it's mine, stepping in exactly where yours ran out, with no interest charged, no requirement that you earn it first.
Today I'm not asking you to run. I'm only asking you to stay close to me for a moment, breathe, and let me renew what exhaustion carried away. One step at a time is still walking with me, and that's enough for today.
