Word of the Father · Day 86/366

You Have Not Been Left Behind

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing.

Isaiah 43:18-19

Sometimes a strange longing hits you for a version of yourself that no longer exists — more energetic, more confident, with fewer visible scars. And along with the longing comes the anxiety of feeling that maybe you'll never be that way again, that you've been permanently left behind.

My son, my daughter, I don't want you to live looking in the rearview mirror, comparing your present with a past that has already served its time. I am doing something new right now, even if you can't fully see it yet. The former things have passed to make room for what's coming.

You are not less today for having changed. Maybe you're wiser, stronger, in a way that doesn't show as clearly as the old energy used to show. Trust what I'm building now, even if it looks different from what you imagined. Trust what I'm building now, even if it still looks different from what you once pictured.
