Word of the Father · Day 72/366
Fear of Losing Who I Love
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.”
Isaiah 41:10
There is a fear that lives in everyone who truly loves: the fear of losing. You look at the one beside you today and, right in the middle of joy, a shadow passes by, asking how long this will last. That fear can steal the peace of being present right now.
My son, my daughter, I understand the love that gives birth to this fear, because I love deeply too. But I don't want you to spend today mourning a loss that may not even happen tomorrow. That robs you of the right to enjoy the one who is alive and near you right now.
I am with you through every season — in presence, and if the day ever comes, in absence too. No loss will catch you without me there to hold your hand. Today, choose to love without living captive to the fear of losing. Today, choose to love without living captive to a fear that may never actually come true.
