Word of the Father · Day 62/366

When the Numbers Don't Add Up

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Matthew 6:31-32

I saw you sitting at the table today, calculator and bills spread out, trying to stretch money that won't stretch. I saw the knot in your stomach, the same calculation redone three times, hoping for a different result.

My son, my daughter, I am not a distant Father watching your budget struggle from far away. I know exactly what's missing, and I know exactly what you need. Before you even ask, I already know the need. That doesn't mean money will fall from the sky tomorrow, but it does mean you don't walk through this uncertainty abandoned.

Let your shoulders drop a little now. Do what's within your reach — organize, cut what you can, ask for help if you need to — and then rest in my hands what is beyond your reach. I take care of what is mine.
