Holding On to Hope for Tomorrow
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11
You look ahead and you're not quite sure what to expect. The recent times have been so hard that it's become difficult to even dream of a better tomorrow — it feels safer to expect nothing, so you won't be disappointed again.
I want to remind you that I thought of you before any hardship ever happened. My plans for your life are not for evil, they are for peace, for a future that will still make sense, even if today it seems impossible to imagine. Holding on to hope isn't naivety — it's trusting the One who has already seen the end of your story and knows it doesn't end in today's pain.
You can dream again — carefully, faithfully, without rushing. I may not give you exactly what you're imagining right now, but I will give you what is truly good, in the right time. Hold on to hope — it will not put you to shame.
