Word of the Father · Day 71/366

The Racing Heart

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

John 14:1

I felt your heart race again — that feeling of breathlessness, cold hands, the world spinning faster than it should. It's frightening, I know, when your own body seems to turn against you.

My son, my daughter, in these moments, the most important thing isn't understanding everything happening inside you, but remembering that you are not alone while it passes. I am right there, as close as the very air you're trying to breathe more slowly.

Believe in me also when your body shouts the opposite of what faith declares. Seek help when you need it — a doctor, therapy, someone you trust — because caring for your body is also a way of honoring what I gave you. And in the meantime, whisper my name. I hear you even when all you can manage is a whisper. I listen to every whisper of yours as though it were a shout, because I am always watching over you.
