The Testimony I Leave My Loved Ones
“We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.”
Psalm 78:4
Today I want you to think about what your children, or the children around you, see in you when life closes in. They notice whether you complain about everything or give thanks even in hard times. They notice whether you speak badly of the day or find reason to praise even while weary.
The psalm speaks of telling the coming generation the praises of the Lord, and that isn't done with words alone — it's done through the example lived out before their eyes. Genuine contentment, visible in the way you live, teaches more theology about me than any well-crafted sermon.
Today, think about what you want recorded in the memory of those who watch your life closely. May they remember you giving thanks, not just complaining; trusting, not just fearing. That's one of the greatest legacies you can leave — a testimony of contentment that outlives you.
