Word of the Father · Day 311/366
After Being Betrayed
“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
Trust that's been broken doesn't vanish overnight. You still remember the exact words, the face of the one who betrayed you, and now you find yourself doubting even people who've never done you wrong. That's not weakness — it's a fresh wound still trying to heal.
I haven't come to tell you that you should already be over it. I've come to remind you that I go ahead of you — including in the relationships still to come, in the people you haven't met yet, in the partnerships you'll still form. I won't abandon you in exactly the most fragile part: learning to trust again.
You don't have to trust everyone in order to trust me. Let me go ahead, testing the road, guarding your heart while it learns, little by little, that not every outstretched hand will hurt you. The hope here isn't to forget the pain — it's to believe that there are still good people out there, and that I know how to choose who I place close to you.
