Word of the Father · Day 300/366
Content Despite the Delay
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
Habakkuk 2:3
I know about the dream that is taking longer than you imagined. Maybe it's the child who still hasn't come, the business that still isn't taking off, the healing that still hasn't been completed. And every month that passes without an answer weighs a little more on your heart, tired of waiting.
Habakkuk also felt that delay and cried out until I answered that the vision had an appointed time — not his time, mine. Even though it may seem to tarry in your eyes, I do not lie in my promise. It is coming, and it will come at the exact moment it finds you ready to receive it.
Contentment despite the delay isn't pretending that waiting doesn't hurt. It's choosing to trust even when the calendar has already passed what you expected. Keep hoping, keep working, keep praying — because it will surely come, and it will not tarry beyond what is necessary.
