After I Trusted and Got Hurt
“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”
Psalm 118:8
I saw what happened. I saw you open your heart to someone, share what was hurting, hand over your trust on a silver platter — and then watch it all get used against you, or simply thrown away. That kind of pain tastes different from any other, because it strikes at your willingness to ever trust anyone again.
I'm not here to tell you people will never disappoint you again. They're human, and humans fail — I know you've failed someone too, at some point. But I want to be the firm ground beneath your feet while you learn, little by little, to trust people again — without placing on them a weight only I can carry.
My faithfulness doesn't depend on my mood, doesn't change with time, and has no hidden agenda. You can rest your wounded heart in me first, and let me take care of how and when to make room for others again.
