Word of the Father · Day 30/366

Closing This Month With Gratitude

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

We've reached the end of another important stretch of the journey, thirty whole days lived side by side with me. Looking back, maybe all you can see is what was missing, what didn't turn out the way you planned, the goals left half-finished. It's always easier to close out a month counting only the losses and the missteps.

But I invite you to look again, with different eyes, more gracious toward yourself. How many times did I sustain you without you even noticing the depth of that care? How many small provisions arrived at just the right moment, when they seemed impossible? How many times did you get back up after falling, even exhausted, even without any desire left to try?

Giving thanks in everything doesn't mean pretending everything is perfectly fine when it isn't. It means recognizing, honestly, that even in the middle of real hardship, my hand never once let go of yours. Close this month in sincere gratitude — not for what was perfect, but for everything that was carried through until now.
