Word of the Father · Day 26/366
It's Never Too Late for Me
“They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;”
Psalm 92:14
You looked at your age in the mirror and thought: it's too late now. Too late to study again, to change careers after so many years in the same one, to learn something completely new, to dream a different dream than the one you've always dreamed. The clock seems to be working against you, marking off each year like a closing door.
But I don't measure time the way you do, counting only the years already lived. I called people in the prime of youth, and people whose hair had already gone completely white, to begin new and important stories. My word speaks of fruit even in old age, of renewed strength even in the later years — it says nothing about a mandatory retirement from your dreams.
Starting over at the exact age you are right now isn't foolishness or immaturity — it's real faith. I don't look at how many years you've already lived; I look at what I can still do through you, if you let me work. There's still time. With me, there's always time, at any age.
