Word of the Father · Day 16/366
When Hope Grew Small
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11
You don't even know what to hope for from life anymore. Past attempts didn't turn out the way you dreamed, the plans didn't unfold the way you imagined, and the hope that was once so big and alive is now just a small ember, almost going out under the weight of so much accumulated disappointment.
I want to breathe that ember back to life. Not with empty, easy promises, but with the unshakable certainty that my thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace, not evil. I haven't given up on the outcome you're hoping for, even if the road there looks much longer and more twisted than you imagined at the start.
Starting over here doesn't require some huge, instant hope from you. It only requires one small ember of faith — just enough for you to say "even so, I trust you" once more today, even exhausted as you are. I'll take care of the rest — the timing, and the ending you can't even imagine how good it will be.
