Word of the Father · Day 19/366
Today Was Just Another Hard Day
“Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
Matthew 6:34
It didn't take some huge tragedy to throw your day off. It was just an ordinary hard day — traffic that wouldn't move, a silly argument that turned into a big one, a to-do list that never really ends, patience that ran out at exactly the wrong moment. Sometimes it's these small, tiring days, with no visible drama at all, that wear the soul down the most.
I'm not holding these twenty-four hours against you, tallying up every slip. Each day carries its own specific weight, and I already accounted for that when I said each day has enough trouble of its own — not yesterday's added to today's, added still to the fear of what tomorrow might bring.
Tonight, let the day go completely. Don't carry it into your pillow. Tomorrow I'll already be there waiting, with mercies completely new, ready before the sun even rises on the horizon. You don't have to fix the whole world today. You just need to rest, and start over tomorrow, lighter.
