Word of the Father · Day 11/366

The Mind That Won't Stop

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Philippians 4:6

Your mind won't stop spinning. It's already three in the morning, and the thoughts keep tumbling over each other — one problem pulling in the next, one fear opening the door for ten more. You're tired of trying to control everything on your own, of playing guardian over everything that could possibly go wrong.

I never asked you to feel nothing, to fake a peace you don't have. I asked you to bring every single thing weighing on your chest right now to me, in honest prayer. You don't need to put together a beautiful speech, or a theological one. It can be just a loose list of fears, said however they come out, with no order at all. I hear all of it — even what you can't quite put into words.

Starting over in anxiety is exactly this: trading the endless scroll of thoughts for surrender, one worry at a time, placed in my hands. I don't promise the problem disappears today. I promise a peace that surpasses understanding, one that will guard your heart while everything works itself out, in its own time.
