Word of the Father · Day 138/366
Tired of trying to be enough
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
I see the effort you put into being good enough. Good enough for God, good enough for others, good enough even for yourself. And that effort tires you in a way different from physical exhaustion — it's a weariness of the soul, the kind that comes from running a race with no finish line.
My son, my daughter, I never asked for performance to love you. I asked you to come. That's all. 'Come to me' has no prerequisite of merit, no proof of sufficiency, no entrance exam. It's an open invitation for whoever is exhausted from trying to handle it all alone.
You don't need to be enough. I am. Rest today from the impossible task of proving yourself worthy all the time, and let me carry the weight that was never yours to carry alone. Drop your shoulders, breathe deep, and let this relief that only I give truly come in.
