Word of the Father · Day 135/366
Stronger than addiction
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
John 8:36
I know the cycle. You promise this will be the last time, and then you fall again, and the shame comes down heavier than the time before. An addiction that keeps returning makes a person feel trapped in a cell they build for themselves every single day. I see that cell, and I see you trying to break down the door with your own hands, alone.
I didn't come to give you one more piece of willpower advice. I came to tell you there's a kind of freedom that isn't born from your own effort — it's born from who I am. When the Son sets you free, that freedom is real, not a temporary relief. That doesn't mean the fight ends in the snap of a finger, but it means you no longer fight these chains alone.
If you fell again this week, don't pull away from me out of shame — it's precisely in the fall that I want to go in deeper. Start again today, not because you are strong, but because I am.
