Word of the Father · Day 131/366
You are worthy because I decided so
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
I know you've wondered whether you deserve to be loved. I know the voice that whispers you're too complicated, that you've messed up too many times, that there are things in your story no one would understand if they knew. That voice is lying, and I want to tear down that lie right now.
Christ didn't die for you after you cleaned yourself up. He died while you were still a sinner — in the middle of the mess, at the height of your failure, with no merit of your own to offer. That means my love never depended on you being worthy first. The proof of my love was given precisely in your worst moment, not your best.
So stop calculating whether you're good enough to be loved. You don't have to be. I already loved you in your most unworthy state and called that proof of love, not an exception.
