Word of the Father · Day 145/366

You Have Not Been Forgotten

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Isaiah 49:15

I know the day you felt like you were praying to an empty ceiling. When things stayed just as bad, when the answer didn't come, when it seemed like maybe I had forgotten you among so many other people and requests. Feeling forgotten by God is a loneliness unlike any other.

But notice the question I asked: is there anything more unlikely than a mother forgetting the child she herself carried and nursed? Almost nothing. And even using that example of the strongest love human nature knows, I went further: 'yet will I not forget thee.' My commitment to you goes beyond even the strongest bond that exists between people.

The silence you felt was not abandonment. It was me working behind the scenes you still can't see. I have never taken my eyes off you, not even for a second.
