Word of the Father · Day 350/366

The Discipline That Is Love

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Hebrews 12:6

My son, My daughter, this difficult season you're going through, that correction that hurt, that door closed right when you wanted it open most, may feel like punishment, abandonment, or a lack of care from Me. I know how confusing it is to feel pain and try to understand where I was in all of it.

But I want to tell you with tenderness: I discipline because I love, not because I gave up on you. A father who does not correct is a father too distant to care about his child's direction. Every correction, every boundary, every no I gave you, was born from My care, even when it felt harsh at the time.

Don't interpret discipline as rejection. Let it teach you, mature you, draw you closer to Me, instead of pushing you away. One day, looking back, you will understand that even what hurt was part of how I cared for you until the end.
