Word of the Father · Day 351/366
Look ahead, not at the obstacle
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”
Hebrews 12:2
My son, my daughter, I know you've been walking with your eyes fixed on the problem: the debt, the exam, the hard conversation you still have to have. When you look only at that, the obstacle grows, and fear takes over every step you try to take.
But I didn't call you to stare at the obstacle; I called you to fix your eyes on me. Peter walked on the water while he looked at Jesus; he began to sink when he looked at the strong wind around him. The obstacle was still there, the same size it had always been, but what changed was where his eyes turned.
Change your focus today. The problem doesn't disappear just because you look at me, but the fear shrinks, and faith grows. I am the one who began this faith in you, and I am also the one who will carry it through to the end. Look at me, and take the next step.
