Word of the Father · Day 355/366

Faithful within the illness that won't go away

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:9

My son, my daughter, I know the weight of living with an illness that won't go away, the tests that repeat, the body that no longer responds the way it used to, the hope of healing that sometimes grows tired of waiting. Persevering inside a body that hurts every day is a form of faith that few people understand from the outside.

I don't promise that every illness will be healed the way and in the time you ask for. But I do promise my grace, sufficient for each day of this journey, strength that renews itself when yours runs out. My power shows up most clearly exactly where human weakness is greatest, not where everything is easy.

Stay faithful within this limitation. Care for your body as best you can, seek treatment, but don't let the illness define who you are or diminish my presence in your life. I am with you at every appointment, in every hard night, sustaining what seems impossible to sustain alone.
