Word of the Father · Day 357/366

The fear of a future that hasn't arrived yet

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Philippians 4:6

My son, my daughter, I see you lying awake at night, your mind racing through scenarios that haven't even happened yet: what if it goes wrong, what if I can't do it, what if the worst comes. This fear of the future has been stealing your sleep and your today, which is the only day you truly hold in your hands right now.

I don't promise that no hardship will ever reach you; that would be a lie. But I promise that I will be there, in the future you fear so much, the same way I am here, right now. You won't have to face alone what hasn't even arrived yet, because when it arrives, my grace will be arriving right along with it.

Bring me this specific anxiety that's stealing your sleep today. Say out loud, or just in your thoughts, what you're afraid of. I want to carry it with you, and give you back a peace that doesn't depend on knowing how it will all turn out. Persevere trusting, not predicting disaster.
