Word of the Father · Day 349/366
Raising Children With Values That Don't Bear Fruit Quickly
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
My son, My daughter, raising children with values in a world so full of noise is exhausting. You teach, correct, pray, and sometimes it seems like none of it is making a difference now. The distant teenager, the sharp reply, the silence when it's time to talk, all of it can make you wonder if it's worth it to keep insisting.
But this promise I left about training up children isn't about immediate results; it speaks of a seed planted early that blossoms in the right season, sometimes years later. The path you insist on teaching today, with patience and example, is not lost, even when it seems forgotten for a while.
Don't give up teaching, praying for your children, living before them what you want them to learn. I am faithful to remind them, at the right time, of everything that was sown in love. Persevere in this task; it is one of the most important I have ever entrusted to you.
