Generosity That Doesn't Look Back
“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7
My son, my daughter, being generous year after year, month after month, grows tiring when it feels like no one else is doing their part, when you give and watch the money disappear with no visible return. It's natural to feel tempted to hold back, to keep more for yourself, to stop being faithful in the generosity that once flowed so easily.
But I don't look at the size of your gift; I look at the heart that gives it. I would rather receive little given with joy than much given with a heavy, calculating heart. Persevering in generosity isn't about never feeling the pinch of giving; it's about continuing to choose to give, with genuine joy, even when your wallet protests.
Don't let the weariness of giving without seeing an immediate return close your hand. I see every gift given in love, and I promise that no one who trusts me enough to give generously is ever left without help because of it. Keep being an open channel of my provision for others.
