Word of the Father · Day 274/366

The Table Is Open Again

And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

Luke 15:23

My son, my daughter, we've come to the end of this month spent talking about forgiveness, and I want to leave you with one image: the table is set, and the invitation is open. It doesn't matter how many times you've walked away, how many reconciliations are still only halfway there, how many forgivenesses you're still learning to give or receive.

The feast I prepare isn't only for the moment when everything is perfectly resolved. It's to celebrate every step you've already taken this month: every hurt you began to release, every hard conversation you had the courage to start, every prayer you prayed asking for strength to forgive someone who seemed impossible to forgive.

Sit at the table with Me today. Bring the ones you've already forgiven, and bring, too, in prayer, the ones still in process, even without a full resolution yet. I am the father who always welcomes, who always celebrates what was lost and has been found. You were found. And the table, My son, My daughter, is always open again.
