Word of the Father · Day 279/366

Grateful for the Coffee Still Warm

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Psalm 100:4

Today I'm not going to talk about any big crisis. I want to talk about the ordinary day. About the coffee that heated up just right, the light that came on when you flipped the switch, the car that started on the first try, the good-morning text someone sent you without you asking.

Gratitude that only shows up for the big wins is shallow. The gratitude I want to build in you comes in through the ordinary doors of your day — the coffee, the sleep that was enough, the song that played at just the right moment. Praise isn't only for when you win the prize; it's for when life simply works.

Try today walking into every room of your house, into every task at work, already giving thanks before you even ask for anything. It changes the tone of your entire day. A heart that gives thanks for the small things recognizes far more easily when I do the great ones.
