Word of the Father · Day 268/366

Leave Vengeance to Me

Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.

Proverbs 20:22

I know you've imagined, more than once, exactly what you'd like to do or say to strike back at what was done to you. It's human to want to give back in kind, to feel that only then will the pain balance out. But I need to tell you a truth that may be hard to accept: revenge never delivers the relief it promises.

When you strike back, the cycle doesn't close, it multiplies. The other person strikes back too, and the fight grows, and no one even remembers the original offense anymore, only that the war goes on. I didn't create you to live in permanent war with the one who hurt you.

Waiting on me isn't passivity, it's mature trust. I see everything that happened, every detail no one else noticed, and I promise to handle justice in a way you can't even imagine. Let go of vengeance from your hand today. It's too heavy for you to carry, and I've already said I will deliver you.
