Word of the Father · Day 259/366

I Made a Mistake at Work — Now What?

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.

Ecclesiastes 9:10

I know about the mistake you made at work, the one that cost you nights of sleep, imagining the consequences, dreading the look on your boss's or coworkers' faces. Maybe it cost money, a deadline, or even the trust others had in you. And now professional shame mixes with the fear that you won't be able to recover.

My son, my daughter, a mistake doesn't define your entire competence. It shows that you're human, working in an imperfect world, with pressure and deadlines that don't always leave room to get everything right. What truly defines you is what you do after the mistake: whether you own it, fix what can be fixed, learn from it, or sink into guilt until you're completely stuck.

I want to give you strength to face this Monday, that difficult meeting, that correction conversation you've been avoiding. Go with your head held high, not because the mistake didn't matter, but because I have already forgiven you, and now it's time to rebuild, one step at a time.
