When the Job Ends
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11
I know the blow it was to get that news out of nowhere, or to watch the numbers stop adding up like they used to, month after month. And it isn't only the money that worries you, though it weighs heavily: it's the feeling that, without that position, you no longer know who you really are. That weighs more than any overdue bill.
Listen carefully: you were never the position you held, nor the badge you wore every day. You are my son, my daughter, long before any professional title, long after any unexpected layoff. Your identity didn't collapse along with the job, even though it feels exactly like that right now.
I have thoughts of peace over your future, even in this moment that feels so uncertain. I won't give you every detail of how it will work out, because that isn't always how I operate, but I promise you my company in every interview, in every door that is still going to open for you. Your story didn't stop here — not even close.
