One Step From You, and I'm Already There
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
James 4:8
I want you to know: I don't wait around for you to arrive perfect before I draw near. All it takes is your first step, even a shaky one, even an uncertain one, and I'm already coming to meet you. That's the logic of our relationship — it isn't you chasing after some distant God, it's the two of us meeting in the middle of the road, with you making just the first move.
Maybe you've been away for a while — from prayer, from the Word, from me. That happens; life pulls you in other directions. But today is a day to come back. You don't need a long speech, you don't need to explain why you disappeared. You just need to draw near again.
Take that step today, even if it's small: a short prayer, a page read, one minute of silence with me. I promise I will come to meet you in that very instant.
