Stop Rowing, Let Me Hold the Helm
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10
I know you've been trying to fix everything with your own hands, rowing hard against a current that was never yours to conquer alone. And in the middle of all that struggle, you forget to do the simplest thing: stop. Be still. Remember that there is a God who holds the helm, and that God is me.
Being still isn't weakness or laziness — it's an act of faith. It's admitting that you don't have to control every outcome, every answer, every situation, because I am the one who is truly in control. When you stop, even for a few minutes, and simply breathe while remembering who I am, anxiety loses some of the power it had over you.
Today, try this: stop whatever you're doing, take a deep breath, and just remember — I am God, and I am in control of whatever is troubling you. You can let go of the helm for a while.
