Word of the Father · Day 246/366
You Can Already Forgive Yourself
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
I saw you yesterday, going over that mistake again. That decision you made and wish you could undo. You've already asked for forgiveness, already cried, already tried to fix what could be fixed. And yet you keep condemning yourself every day, as if my grace had a limit you'd already gone past.
My grace has no such limit. I already forgave you the moment you confessed. The problem is that you still haven't accepted my verdict over you. You keep sitting there on the defendant's bench, repeating a sentence I already overturned.
Today I want you to read this word out loud: forgiven. Not because you earned it, but because I decided it. Get up from that bench. The trial is over, and the verdict came back in favor of your life, not against it.
