Word of the Father · Day 236/366

Your Identity Is Not Your Title

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people.

1 Peter 2:9

When someone asks who you are, the first answer usually comes from your profession, your title, your social role. And I understand — the world teaches us to introduce ourselves that way. But I want to remind you of an identity deeper than any name tag.

You are a chosen generation, a priesthood, a people I chose for myself, before any professional title. That means that if the job ever ends, if your career changes course, if the position disappears, who you are to me doesn't change one bit.

When you build your identity on your work, every professional setback becomes an existential crisis. But when you build it on me, work becomes simply a place where you carry out your calling — not the source of it. Rest in that today.
