Word of the Father · Day 232/366

A Cup of Water Is Enough

And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Matthew 10:42

Today I want to undo the idea that purpose is only great when it changes the whole world. Sometimes the most precious purpose is giving a cup of water to someone who is thirsty — literally or figuratively. A word of encouragement for a tired coworker. A plate of food for a neighbor who has none. A willing ear for someone who just needs to be heard.

The world measures greatness by reach. I measure it by love. A small gesture, done out of love for me and for your neighbor, is never insignificant in my eyes. It carries eternal weight even when it looks invisible to human eyes.

Don't wait until you have great resources to begin serving. Start with the cup of water you already have in your hands today. That is already enough to be part of my purpose through you.
