Word of the Father · Day 225/366
Excellence in What Seems Small
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”
Colossians 3:23
I saw you tidying up that tedious spreadsheet, washing those dishes again, dealing with that difficult customer for the fifth time today. Repetitive work, with no shine to it, with no one to notice the effort. And I want to tell you: I noticed.
The world divides work into important and unimportant, visible and invisible. I don't divide it that way. To me, what matters is the heart behind the task, not the size of the audience watching. When you do the small thing with excellence, as though it were for me, it becomes worship — even if no one else ever knows it.
Don't trade the quality of your work for a lack of recognition. Keep doing it well, with your whole heart, because it is me you are serving, even when it looks like just an ordinary task.
