The Talent Sleeping Within You
“Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.”
1 Timothy 4:14
I saw that talent of yours, tucked away in a drawer of your life, gathering dust from disuse. The thing you do well, that others praise, but that you yourself treat as unimportant — I did not put that in you by accident.
Sometimes we think a gift is only worth something if it becomes a career, brings in money, or has an audience. But I want to remind you: the gift I gave has value even when it's small, even when it's hidden, even if it only brings joy to one person a day. Do not despise what is in you just because the world hasn't applauded yet.
Today I invite you to take that talent out of the drawer. It doesn't need to be perfect, it doesn't need to be big. It just needs to be used. Start small, start unsure, but start — because a gift left idle never fulfills the purpose for which I gave it.
