Word of the Father · Day 239/366

Use What's Already in Your Hands

What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

Exodus 4:2

I asked Moses what he had in his hand, and the answer seemed ridiculously simple: a staff. An ordinary shepherd's stick, nothing special about it. And it was exactly that simple object I used to part the sea, to set an entire people free.

You keep looking at what you don't have — the degree you lack, the money you lack, the network of contacts you lack — and forget to look at what you already have in your hands right now. It may be little, it may seem too ordinary for a great calling. But I don't need the extraordinary to move. I need your willingness to hand over what you already have.

What is it that you have in your hand today? A simple talent, some basic knowledge, some free time, a small circle of friends? Hand it over to me. I turn the ordinary into a miracle when it's placed in my hands with faith.
