Word of the Father · Day 327/366

When the Dream Took Too Long

For the vision is yet for an appointed time... though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Habakkuk 2:3

You once had a clear dream — a calling, a project, a vision of what your life could be. And the years passed, and it still hasn't happened. Sometimes you don't even remember the excitement of when you first received that dream.

Habakkuk also complained to me about the delay, and I wasn't offended by his honesty — I answered with this promise: the vision has an appointed time, one that isn't your clock or your calendar, but isn't eternal either. It will surely come.

I didn't plant that dream in you to frustrate you. Maybe the waiting was the time meant to prepare you, to clear out of the way what would have tripped you up, to mature in you the character needed to sustain what's coming. Don't give up now. Write the vision again, if you need to, and keep waiting with active faith, not with weary resignation.
