Hope When the Feed Wears You Down
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature... for the LORD seeth not as man seeth.”
1 Samuel 16:7
You opened your phone to kill five minutes and left an hour later feeling small: the trip you never took, the house you don't have, the body that doesn't measure up, the family that looks perfect in the photo. The feed became a mirror for comparison, not a window for connection.
I don't look at you the way social media teaches you to look at yourself. It measures by likes, by appearance, by editing. I measured David, a shepherd nobody thought worthy of the throne, and I saw exactly what everyone else couldn't see: the heart.
Switch off the comparison today, even if only for a moment, and let me show you how I see you: no filter, no editing, and still valuable. The hope of someone who feels small in front of a screen is remembering that the world's yardstick was never the ruler that decides your worth.
