Word of the Father · Day 331/366

Hope in the Midst of Chaos

In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

You turn on the television, open the news, and it feels like the world is falling apart: war, crisis, violence, uncertainty. You just want to shut it all off and pretend you don't see it, just to get a little peace of mind.

I never promised a world without trouble while you're still in it. I was very clear about that. But I didn't leave that sentence half-finished either: along with the warning of trouble comes the command to be of good cheer, because I had already overcome this world before it even finished revealing its chaos to your eyes.

Your hope isn't built on the headlines, or the election, or the economy. It's built on me, and I stand above every headline there is. You can stay informed, you can pray for the nations, you can do your part right where you are — but don't let the world's chaos steal the peace I already placed inside you.
