Word of the Father · Day 322/366

When Even Your Own People Have Given Up

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Nahum 1:7

There's a specific kind of pain in realizing that the people you expected support from have already given up on you. Maybe they got tired of watching you fall into the same mistake, or they simply disappeared when life got too hard, leaving you alone exactly when you needed company the most.

I don't give up when others give up. While human beings have limits on their patience, their energy, their time, I keep going. Not because I'm indifferent to other people's exhaustion, but because my love for you was never dependent on anyone's endurance but my own.

If today you feel like you've been left alone in your own fight, let me remind you: I am a strong hold in the day of trouble, and I know, intimately, those who trust in me. It's not weakness to need me when people grow tired — it's wisdom to discover, sooner rather than later, who will truly never let you go.
