Word of the Father · Day 167/366

Knocking at Midnight Without Shame

I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

Luke 11:8

I saw you awake late at night, turning over a problem that won't let you sleep. And maybe you thought: 'I won't bother God with this again, I already asked this morning.' Son, I don't sleep, and your midnight doesn't bother Me. I tell this story so you'll understand that you can knock on My door even at the wrong hour, even repeating the request.

The friend in the story answered not only out of friendship, but because the other man persisted without shame. I am so much more than that friend: I already love you before you knock, and I still rejoice when you persist, because it shows you know where to find real help.

Tonight, if the problem comes back to steal your sleep, don't carry it alone. Knock on My door again. I will rise for you, whatever the hour.
