Perplexed, but Not Abandoned

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

2 Corinthians 4:9

I know that sometimes it feels like life is chasing you down in an almost personal way — one problem after another, barely solving one before a bigger one shows up waiting around the corner. You feel cast down, truly on the ground, without even the energy to get back up today.

But I wrote down an important difference I want you to hold deep in your heart: persecuted is not the same as forsaken, with no one nearby. Cast down is not the same as destroyed beyond return. You may be on the ground right now, tasting the bitter taste of defeat, but I did not leave you there alone, and the ground is not your final destination — it's only a stop along the way.

Let me lift you up, even if slowly, even if you don't feel the strength to try again right now. Today's defeat doesn't write the end of your story, and it doesn't get the last word on who you are. It's just one more page that I am still going to turn with you, with patience and without rush.
