The Dream Deferred Still Breathes
“Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.”
Joshua 1:6
My son, my daughter, I know that dream you keep in a drawer, a little dusty, deliberately forgotten, because you tried once, it didn't work out, and the weariness of trying again feels bigger than the desire to accomplish what once made your heart beat faster.
Joshua received a promised land that he didn't even see fulfilled right away, one that demanded battles, time, and patience beyond what he expected. But I told him to be strong and of good courage, because the promise hadn't expired just because the road was long and full of obstacles. What I promised you also still stands, intact, waiting for the right time.
That dream didn't die — it's just waiting for you to gather courage again, even if it's with trembling hands. It doesn't have to be today with all the strength you wish you had — it only has to be today with one step, however small it may seem, in the right direction. I'll take care of the rest of the way.
